Surly Fixxer (formerly "Sub 11.0") Cassette hub converter $80.95 buy button sub 11.0 fixed gear adapter

This is a conversion kit to convert almost any recent Shimano cassette hub (except pre-1997 Dura Ace) to fixed gear.

The kit consists of a solid "body" to replace the freehub body, a solid axle. The body will accept either a track sprocket and lock ring (not included) or a single-speed BMX-type freewheel. It includes a set of spacers, allowing the hub to be set up with 120, 126, 130 or 135 mm spacing.

This kit will also permit the conversion of Spinergy and other one-piece wheels that use Shimano cassettes.

I.R.O.

We used to carry Formula cartridge bearing hubs under the IRO brand name, but now we get the same hubs made for us under the Harris Cyclery brand name at a better price.

Formula

We carry Formula cartridge bearing hubs primarily as a backup supply in case we run out of the version Formula makes for us under the Harris Cyclery brand name.

The Formula hubs are also featured on some of our stock wheels.

Axles are not readily changeable, so these really can't be converted to quick release.

AAVLR0 Campagnolo compatible - Fixed Gear Lockring N/A  21 $27.95 buy button
135 mm spacing, standard 52 mm singlespeed MTB chainline, lines up with the outer ring of a normal triple crankset.

The K.I.S.S. Off hubs below are now listed on our Singlespeed Page--Click Here

Phil Wood MTB Fixed/Free Hub
This absolutely gorgeous hub is the first fixed-gear hub made to work with a singlespeed mountain bike.

The 52 mm chainline avoids chainwheel clearance problems on MTB frames. Like the legendary Phil Wood track hubs, this uses high-quality stainless steel Allen bolts to secure the hub to the frame.

Extensive knurling on both the axle caps and the exquisite washer/bushing units means this hub will not slip.

The hot setup is a fairly high fixed gear for road use to get you to the trailhead, and a low freewheeling gear for the rough stuff. If you're a wuss, you leave the lockring off and mount freewheels on both sides

Phil Wood MTB Fixed/Free Hub

Surly Double Fixed-gear Hubs $69.95 rear, $59.95 front

Surly flip-flop fixed gear track hubDESCRIPTION

These excellent hubs from Quality Bicycle Products/Surly are a super value. 100/120 mm spacing, they use standard 9 x 1 front and 10 x 1 rear axles, easily converted to quick release or to other spacing. The axles are long enough for anywhere up to 130 mm rear spacing.

These hubs are designed for standard "track style" 42 mm chainline.

If you have 135 mm spacing, you would be better off with the Surly "New" singlespeed model. That version also features 52 mm chainline, so it works better with mountainbike frames.

The double fixed design lets you use a fixed sprocket or singlespeed freewheel on either side.

With good track nuts and oversized (22 mm!), sharply serrated locknuts to keep them from slipping even under strong sprinters.

32 hole only. Lockrings not includced.

Nuts & Bolts

Track Nuts $7.95/pair buy button

Track Nuts
Track NutsStandard
Serrated Flange Nuts
Proper track nuts have integral washers. They permit easier adjustment of chain tension, and hold the wheel in place better.
10 x 1 mm$7.95 Fits Shimano, Surly rear hubs and most freewheel hubs.
9.5 x 26 tpi$7.95 Fits Sovos and Suzue rear hubs(Except for Suzue NJS)
9 x 1 mm$7.95 Fits Shimano front hubs and most freewheel hubs.
These 9.5 x 26 tpi track nuts fit the Sovos and Suzue hubs we sell.

We also carry other sizes for other hubs.

Single Stack Bolts $6.95 set of 5 buy button

It looks really goofy to ride a fixed gear with a useless extra chainwheel on your crank. These track-style stack bolts are the right length to hold a single chainwheel to your crank. They fit all modern cranks.

3 mm Chainwheel Spacers $2.95 set of 5 buy button

For budget road-to-fixed conversions, a quick and dirty way to make the chainline work is by spacing the chainwheel inward from the crank spider.

This is especially useful if you're using a hub made for a multi-speed freewheel, because it reduces the amount of re-dishing required.
