Well, pretty as it is, my Bates was too small for me, and my Gunnar wasn't wierd enough for me, so I've stripped the Bates of its Sturmey- Archer ASC 3-speed fixed-gear hub and installed it on the Gunnar--backwards!

I'm running a 52 tooth Biopace chainring, with an 18 tooth sprocket in back. The ASC hub gives me a choice of three gears:

3rd Gear: Direct drive, 5.8 Gain Ratio (78 gear inches)

2nd Gear: 90%, 5.2 Gain Ratio (70 gear inches)

1st Gear: 75%, 4.4 Gain Ratio (59 gear inches)
