Well, not exactly. It's a business trip. Vegas isn't exactly a holy site. We at sheldonbrown.com need to keep up to date with evolving bicycle technology and new products. Three representatives of Harris cyclery will be going too.
Every September, the bicycle industry holds its big trade show in Las Vegas. This is where manufacturers and distributors of bicycles, components, tools, clothing, you name it, put their wares on display for retailers., I'll be going, having a little fun trying out bikes in the outdoor Demo Day, and making the rounds of the huge exhibition hall.
Sheldon reported on several of the trade shows. Now it's my turn. I'll be tweeting and posting facebook updates, maybe also updating this page.
I've arrived in Las Vegas, which very unusually had heavy rain over the past couple of days. Seeds of flowering plants lie dormant in the desert for years, then the plants spring forth, flower and bear seeds on a rush schedule before the water all dries up. It may be too early for the desert to be carpeted with flowers for the Outdoor Demo today, but on the other hand there will probably be mud!
