A VIRGILIAN CHARADE

A LATIN term in my full form is traced,
Whose primal part the hero's claim assumes -
A clear enclitic in my last is placed,
Linking a theme that Virgil's soul consumes
With life of deeds by Classic Art unrolled,
To light whose name the epic fire he brings -
A man set forth in his exalted mould,
Whose fame in sweet hexameters he sings. -
