It appears that business wasn't too good for Raleigh USA in 1977, they've greatly reduced the number of Raleigh models, and fleshed out the line with a bunch of unimpressive Rampar-badged Japanese imports.

The Rampar name had previously been used only for parts and accessories. It comes from "RA leigh of AM erica PAR ts"
