We carry the very high-quality Wheels brand CrMo replacement/upgrade axles.In most cases, these are better than the original axles they replace.
Axles are sized by:
- Diameter. Common diameters include 8 mm, 9 mm, 9.5 mm and 10 mm, 5/16" and 3/8" (3/8" is generally interchangeable with 9.5 mm.)
- Length. Hollow axles for quick release skewers are usually 11 mm longer than the hub/frame spacing, so that 5.5 mm of axle sticks out past the ends of the locknuts, but you can get by with much less projection in a pinch.
- Thread pitch. This is measured either in TPI (Threads Per Inch) or millimeters per thread. (1 mm pitch = 25.4 TPI.)

Right side has 4 washers, total stack 9mm, plus rubber seal ring. Japan.
