Donuts | Ferrules/Crimps | Travel Agents | Yokes
These minor items are so cheap we don't charge for a few of them. If you want a large quantity, you can buy them by the bottle.
Ferrules 5 mm
Ferrules help keep the cut housing end aligned with its stop hardware, helping reduce cable friction. They are essential for index housing to keep it from fraying.
A few? Free.
Bottle of 200 $21.95
Crimps
Crimps-squish these onto the cut ends of your cables to prevent fraying/unraveling of the cable.A few? Free.
Bottle of 500 $17.95
Donuts
Rubber donuts slide onto your cables where they run bare, especially along the top tube. The donuts keep the bare cables from rattling against the frame, and also protect the paint from abrasion. A few? Free.
Bottle of 600 $37.95
CAH31 "Mickey" Barrel Adjuster Conversion Kit $3.95 Each
This unit is intended to fit into a top-tube cable stop and provides a fingertip adjustment for your rear brake. This is very desirable on drop-bar conversions of bicycles originally built for upright bars (upright-bar brake levers usually incorporate a barrel adjuster, while drop-bar levers do not.)
CAH32 In-Line Cable Adjusters $9.95/pair
Cut your cable housing anywhere and install a barrel adjuster wherever you find it convenient.
CAH59 Fork Crown Housing Stop $14.95 Each
This unit allows you to use traditional cantilevers or center-pull cantilevers without a housing stop on the headset. It is designed to bolt onto the front of the fork crown. This can solve a number of problems, and can improve cable routing by letting the cable get around even a low handlebar stem without a sharp kink. This is not intended for use with suspension forks. It may be possible to make it work with some suspension forks by mounting it on the upside-down "U" bridge that connects the legs, but it must not be mounted on the fork crown of a suspsension fork as it will cause unpredictable brake application as the fork responds to bumps.
Problem Solvers Travel Agents
These clever stepped pulleys double the cable travel, permitting traditional the use of direct pull ("V type") brakes with traditional short pull brake levers, including Campagnolo Ergo and Shimano STI brifters.
With Adjusting Barrel $27.95
BR0400No Adjusting Barrel $23.95
