Our Cyclecomputer database is your starting point when looking for information on cyclecomputers. It links to owner's manuals for most cyclecomputers. Sometimes we had to work without a manual, or have additional information. It's on this page for Cateye computers.
Look for similarities in appearance and function when trying instructions for a computer not on our list. Many bicycle computers are rebranded. Please let us know of rebranded models which you have identified.
Old versions of manufacturers' Web sites preserved on the Internet Archive may list older models. A Web search on the make and model, plus "manual" or "instructions" sometimes turns up information posted by an owner. If you have information on a model not covered here, please send it in.

Pressing the "MODE" button will cycle the computer through the modes:
Settings may be changed in these modes as described below.
Entering "Set" mode to revise wheel size without losing mileage:
Cycle through the modes until Tm or the clock is displayed. If Tm is displayed, press the MODE button for 2 seconds to display the clock time. Then press the "SET" button. The hour display will flash and can be changed using the "MODE" button, more quickly if you hold the button down. The "START/STOP" button will switch between setting the hour and the minute. The clock displays 24-hour time if the computer is set to record kilometers, and 12-hour time if to record miles. Press the "SET" button again to return to normal clock mode, and the "MODE" button if you would like to return to elapsed time mode. The clock does not know about daylight savings time: you will have to reset it manually.
When "ODO" is displayed, press the "MODE" and "START/STOP" buttons at the same time to view the wheel calibration setting.
If these buttons are further held down for more than 3 seconds, the wheel calibration value moves between "A" and "B" values.
In other modes, you may press the "SET" button for two seconds at the same time to switch between "A" and "B" values.
When Elapsed Time, Average Speed, Trip Distance 1 or 2 is displayed, then press the SET (underside) button to turn the [AT] icon to the right of the "A" or "B" display on or off. When on,, the computer records only riding time, and the icon flashes while it is being recorded; when off, you must press the START/STOP button to turn the timer on or off. This also turns recording of trip distance and average speed on or off.
When in Elapsed Time mode, press the MODE button for 2 seconds to switch to Clock Time mode, Press the MODE button briefly to return to Elapsed time mode.
When in Trip distance (Dst) mode 1, press the "MODE" button for two seconds to switch to Trip Distance mode 2, and vice versa. These are reset independently, so you can use Trip Distance 2 to record segments within a trip, etc.
When Elapsed Time, Trip Distance 1, Average Speed or Maximum Speed is displayed, press both the "MODE" and "START/STOP" buttons at once for 2 seconds to reset all of these to zero. When trip distance 2 is selected, pressing this combination resets only trip distance 2.
