These images were made with a Nikon Coolpix 990 digital camera. They are mostly manual focus, ISO 400, 2.0 digital telephoto, normal quality.I used Adobe Photoshop on a Macintosh iBook to crop and sharpen the images.
The women's race started about 6:00 pm, so I had adequate light for this event.
The men's race started later, and toward the end of the event the light was insufficient. I used the built-in flash on a few of the later images. Many of the later images have had the brightness and contrast bumped up by about 20%.
I only bought this splendid camera two days previously, and have not, by any means, mastered its intracacies yet.
