Since 1971, more than a million people have enjoyed a live Revels performance. Using traditional folk material and audience participation, the Revels are based on the commonality amongst people. Diverse in every outwardly respect, which includes their need for connectedness, for celebration, and for the rediscovery of ancient rituals that magically retain their meaning today.While its roots are in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the first Christmas Revels was performed in 1971, Revels, Inc. was founded as a non-profit organization in 1974 and has since established production companies in ten additional cities throughout the United States. All companies perform annual productions of The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice. Many produce events at other times of the year as well. Revels companies may be contacted year-round through their web sites or office numbers. Here is a listing of upcoming Christmas Revels productions being planned for December 2001.
