Nitto Aluminum North Road Bars Click cart button for pricing Japanese version of the classic handlebar used on English 3-speeds. These have a longer straight section (140 mm), making them more compatible with modern brake levers and grips. The standard 1" diameter clamp area is compatible with most stems, and is heavily knurled to prevent slippage. Reach is 50 mm, Drop is -85 mm, the ends of the bars are 125 mm behind the center of the stem. 70 degree grip area, 50 cm width (center-to-center.)
Pyramid Aluminum North Road Bars Click cart button for pricing Economy version of the classic handlebar used on English 3-speeds.
Older English bikes with steel handlebars used a 15/16" diameter fit where the handlebars go into the stem, so older bars and stems are not compatible with modern 1" (25.4 mm) stems and bars. If you want to upgrade to a modern stem, these bars are the hot ticket to go with it.

Repro Raleigh-type Grips

These French-made rubber grips are the closest thing I've found to the original "Dare" brand grips. An excellent choice for English 3 speeds of the '60s and '70s, these have a slightly soft, rubber-like consistency, maybe even more comfy than the originals. I've been looking for something like this for a LONG time!

Crank Cotters

CK095 (English)	9.5 mm (3/8") Crank Cotters $1.95 Each	This size fits Raleighs and other English bikes, also fits most Asian made cottered cranks.	(You will probably need to file the flat down some to fit your cranks)
CK090 (French)	9.0 mm (French Size) Crank Cotters $1.95 Each	This size fits most French bikes.
CK091 (Peugeot)	9.0 mm (Peugeot Taper) Crank Cotters $1.95 Each	This size fits most Peugeot bikes.
CK085 (Italian)	8.5 mm (Italian) Crank Cotters $1.95 Each	This size fits most Italian bikes.

Brake Cables

QBP Stainless Slick ® premium inner cables $3.95 each

These modern inner cables won't rust, and are die-drawn to make them smooth on the outside for reduced friction.

Shimano or Quality Lined Brake Housing White, Black, Blue, Red, Yellow

Not suitable for "authentic" restoration, but if you want your brakes to work really well, this will make a difference. See also my article on bicycle cables.

Brake shoes

For caliper (cable-operated) brakes:
Kool Stop Continental Salmon for caliper brakes	Click cart button for price	These stop a lot better than the old black ones. They're an ugly orange color (using the special "rubber" pioneered by the no-longer available Mathauser brake shoes. Nothing else works as well.	Continental
For roller-lever (rod-operated, angled-stud) brakes:
Fibrax SH144		Premium, English made brake shoes, curved to match the rim's shape. 59 mm long.
Fibrax SH70		English made brake shoes, basic quality 50 mm long.

Brooks Leather Saddles

We are one of the world's largest dealers of classic Brooks leather saddles. We keep an excellent stock on hand, including the B72 as used on the Raleigh Sports, and the sprung B66 as used on the Raleigh Superbe.

Unless you're dead set on an absolutely authentic restoration, the B66 is the better choice.
The B66 is the model used on the deluxe "Superbe" versions of the Raleigh Sports, and the springs really work. The loop "springs" on the B72 don't do much.

A classic traditional rubber block pedal, with serviceable bearings, Japanese quality. Sturdy and well made, very appropriate replacement for older 3-speed bikes.
