John has added some owner comments to the page on SRAM G8 and G9 internal-gear hubs. Opinions are generally very positive.

New article about the SRAM i-Motion 9 internal-gear hub — the only public source of information on how to rebuild this hub, and with links to installation information and (hard to find!) parts lists from SRAM.
There’s more troubleshooting advice now in our article about Sachs/SRAM internal-gear hubs: how to test whether a problem is inside the hub, or only in the shifter and cable — for hubs with 3, 5 or 7 speeds, with pullchain(s) or clickbox.
These levers no longer index properly when the grease inside gums up — and the internals are very complicated. John Allen has posted an article describing several approaches to repair of these levers, and with a link to an expert in rebuilding them.
