Our cyclecomputer database goes deep. We have found, scanned and posted a PDF of the manual for what is probably the first cyclecomputer, the Veltec Pacer 2000. We also have manuals for early Cateye, Avocet and Vetta computers, and rare brands.

We are here!
Ah, the hand-wringing. It seems to have started with someone at the road.cc blog who inquired on our Facebook page, then posted on without waiting for our response.
Harris Cyclery has closed after a 70-year run, hit hard by pandemic supply issues. Sheldonbrown.com got its start when Sheldon worked at Harris Cyclery, and we are very grateful to Harris Cyclery for its support. But, since 2010, sheldonbrown.com (except for the /harris pages) has floated its own boat, through online advertising.
We don’t know yet what other affiliation we may find, or whether we’ll go it alone, but you may rest easy. Ride your bike, and feel free to come to us for help keeping it in top shape.
ShelBroCo Quadratech
Introducing ShelBroCo QuadraTech Chainrings and sleeve nuts.
Throw away those obsolete chainrings! The unbearably vexing problem of sleeve-nut rotation has bedeviled generations of bicycle mechanics. Who else would you expect to come up with a solution but ShelBroCo?
Addition to post about 360-degree video
Thanks to Philip Carlson, our article about 360-degree video now includes a video clip illustrating the nighttime performance of the Garmin VIRB 360 camera. As expected, there is camera-motion blur, but it looks much different from that with a conventional camera.
Rebuilding freewheels
We have a much expanded description of how to rebuild a freewheel, now a new article and no longer just a paragraph in our main article on freewheels.
Revisions to Sachs/SRAM Internal-gear hub pages
Every once in a while we go back and review our pages to deal with product changes and link rot. We just did that with all our pages about Sachs and SRAM internal-gear hubs. You will find product manuals here which are hard to find anywhere else. You can start with our main page about these hubs.
Addition to freewheels page
There’s a new section in our freewheels page showing how freewheels work and what is inside.
Videos and articles about Paris-Brest-Paris
Harriet Fell, owner of this site, was one of the first Americans to finish the iconic 1200km Paris-Brest-Paris ride, and was one ammong several people to give talks about PBP at an event run by the Charles River Wheelers bicycle club in February, 2019.
Here is a video of her talk. You may click on the link to YouTube in the video to view it in HD resolution and with closed captions. (We are still looking for someone to clean up the Google translation into French…interested?)
Several other people also spoke at the February event. We have a new page linking to all the videos and to our articles about PBP.
Harriet Fell’s 1975 Paris-Brest-Paris ride
Harriet Fell tells the story of her 1975 Paris-Brest-Paris ride. She was one of the first Americans to complete PBP. The story is online at sheldonbrown.com, and her illustrated talk is on Youtube.
