Translations…

There are now translations of the Cables and Cranks articles into Slovak, thanks to translator Juraj Peressényi.

Our Teaching Kids to Ride page is availble in Belarusian.

There are three articles in Chinese thanks to Phil Feng, and numerous articles in French, German, Russian; a couple in Spanish and Czech.

Harriet has revised the Translations table of contents page, which was becoming unwieldy in its earlier format.

If you can read English but your native language is another, we welcome translations. Please see our translations page for further information.

Refinishing bicycle frames

New article on refinishing bicycle frames. How much of the work does it make sense to do yourself? With a steel frame, there are several good answers, depending on available time, your workspace, and how much the appearance of the frame matters to you.

With non-steel frames, options are more limited, but the article describes them too.

It’s been five years…

February 4, 2013 marks the 5th anniversary of the passing of Sheldon Brown, founder of sheldonbrown.com and still the author of most material on the site.

As a friend of Sheldon’s once said, “After they made him, they threw away the mold.” He was unique in his knowledge of bicycles, his ability to put that information clearly into writing, his willingness to share, and his sense of humor.

We mourn his loss, and miss him.

We continue to do our best to expand and update the site, though we regret that we can never match his style!

This new article offers a table with a detailed feature-by-feature comparison.
